Most of my artwork is relatively unplanned and there is no conscious narrative, instead the work develops through the act of doing.  Through experimenting with materials, I’m looking for textures and patterns or some organic quality inherent within it, that I can exploit.  I’m always drawn to things I haven’t seen before and intrigued by what might be possible.

Often what I feel is my best work arises from accidents or through noticing and investigating something that was unexpected.

The making process is a physical one rather than an intellectual one.  Although decisions are being made constantly, many are made unconsciously and the work develops in an intuitive way.  Often there is not an end point, the works produced are just part of a cycle of process.
